Satellite tracking

  • Automatic calculation of pass schedule covering up to 15 days, with parameters including satellite selections, time windows, latitude limits and data type prioritisation, plus manual editing facilities to allow selection of individual passes.
  • Configurable antenna parking mode to allow ingest of LRIT/HRIT data (requires Dartcom XRIT Ingester software) or satellite TV reception between passes (marine systems with Ku-band option).
  • Station position, date and time updated automatically from GPS receiver, with automatic reprediction of satellite passes.
  • Automatic downloading and updating of prediction data from the web.

Data ingest

  • HRPT, CCSDS and DMSP ingest engines supporting HRPT, CHRPT, SeaWiFS, AHRPT and DMSP data.
  • Automatic receiver control and data ingest with multi-threaded architecture for minimum latency and maximum throughput.
  • Calibration and navigation of ingested data.
  • Live preview displayed during ingest with automatic enhancement and creation of map overlays at the end of each pass.

Archiving and output

  • Automatic archiving of ingested data for up to 366 days with the option to group passes into folders by date.
  • Output of image data to Dartcom iDAP/MacroPro software for display, processing, printing and exporting.
  • Output of HRPT data to NOAA level 1B format (versions 1, 2 and 3) for compatibility with third-party processing software.
  • Output of raw HRPT and CHRPT data to third-party formats including standard raw and HRPT level 0.
  • Output of ancillary HRPT data including TIP and DCS.
  • Output of SeaWiFS data to SeaWiFS level 0 format for SeaShark.

Diagnostics and maintenance

  • Access control and password locking to prevent unauthorised tampering.
  • Event logging with disk space monitoring and on-screen and e-mail alarms (access to SMTP server required) for serious events.
  • Manual rotator control with detailed diagnostics displays, sun track mode, exercise mode and calibration facilities.
  • Support for the optional Dartcom HRPT simulator module.
